From the get go, the cover had caught my eye. Dro has some fine ass honeys with big breasts and large "booties", dressed in gold bikinis stretched out on some red satin pillows and sheets. We're off to a good start. But I don't really know about Young Dro, other then his affiliation with T.I. and his Pimp Squad Clik. I'm in luck, the first track is called "They Don't Really Know About Dro." After 15 tracks of "hood hijinks" and "southern street life", there's a reason I don't know about Dro... and don't want to. His voice and delivery both stand out in this flooded southern market, but there's nothing timeless or classic about "Best Thang Smokin'." Lack luster filler production from Jazze Pha was a disappointment, and cameos from T.I. and Slim Thug couldn't even save this album.

But folks, there are some high lights, up and coming producer Lil' C shines on this album. Producing the summer smash "Shoulder Lean", the southern answer to one hit one wonders Terror Squads, "Lean Back." I found myself "leanin" to this track even before a fifth of Jack and a dutch. None the less, a sure fire hit. I'm sure we will be hearing alot more of Lil' C in the future.

Though Young Dro will probably sell more records then Murphy Lee and others that venture from their "cliques" just from his hit single, but "Best Thang Smokin'" is generic, and won't leave his mark like a David Banner, Paul Wall, or even a Young Jeezy. It's back to school for this freshman. My suggestion, download "Shoulder Lean" and "My Girl" from Itunes or your favorite legal music source. This will definitely fill any Young Dro void you have. And why is Wanya Morris from Boyz II Men pictured in the back sleeve? - Re-kon "keepin' it fresh to def since since BoBa Fett"
