David Ortiz Looks Like a Dominican Shrek

David Ortiz, a member of the Boston Red Sox, had some interesting words to say regarding this year’s American League MVP voting and how he deserves to win. Ortiz, who many have said bears a striking resemblance to Shrek, said (in reference to Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter), “they’ll vote for a position player, use that as an excuse.
They’re talking about Jeter a lot, right? He’s done a great job, he’s having a great season, but Jeter is not a 40-homer hitter or an RBI guy. It doesn’t matter how much you’ve done for your ball club, the bottom line is, the guy who hits 40 home runs and knocks in 100, that’s the guy you know helped your team win games.” Ortiz then apparently managed to read the article that published his quote in the newspaper before eating it, and had this reaction: “What is this s***? That’s not me, bro. That’s not what I’m about. This makes me look stupid.” He added, “I try to be cool with everybody, all the media. I don’t want to be like Manny.”
So basically, Mr. Ortiz, in the span of 48 hours, managed to let everyone know just how bitter and disgruntled he is about how bad the Red Sox suck, how much of a big baby bitch he is that cares more about the MVP trophy than he does about a World Series ring, and alienate one of his own teammates, all in a few quotes. Well done, David. Jeter had this to say in reaction: “I’m not thinking about the MVP right now. We’re thinking about winning a division. We’ve still got something to play for.” He then added, “Plus, don’t you guys think he looks like a Dominican Shrek? Me too!”
