FOX Buys YouTube!

Its been confirmed through our spy that Rupert Murdoch has indeed confirmed the long speculation that he would buy internet video giant, YouTube. The purchase price has not been confirmed but our source says its way into the 10 figure region. Uhm, yeah…I think thats pretty obvious.

So here’s where the agrument comes in. What does NBC do with all that exclusive content? Do they pull or try and get the same deal? What about the other TV stations?
Does this mean the downfall of YouTube and an influx of advertisers just like Myspace? What’s next?

FOX kills everything that is good, (only this doesnt start with F) firefly, futurama, family guy, and soon to be Youtube.

I don’t think Fox will buy YouTube. If it does, what’s next is YouTube slowly loses its edge. Ruport makes a fortune spinning off the new Web media empire, and a young, aspiring Lonely Girl makes it as the next big producer.

[…] Recently a post appeared on the front page of digg suggesting that Fox would purchase YouTube. Nobody yet knows if this rumor is true or not; however, it should be. YouTube must combine with a media giant in order to develop the next killer facet of their project — YouTube TV. […]

C’mon, dude, just uncheck the newsletter option in your MySpace settings. What, you’d rather put up with that browser-crashing crapsphere that people call Xanga?

That would be because MySpace isn’t just a networking site; it’s a spam/advertising site.

As with myspace, I’m sure youtube will go down the tubes. After large corporations purchase these sites they lose touch with the appeal of the site and fill it with corporate BS. Not to mention i’m sure it will start crashing daily like myspace.

Surely there are some bright boys out there who can launch an alternative site for everyone to move their videos to? This is the beauty of the internet, right? To be able to shift focus faster than they can dominate. So if this rumor proves to be true, it’s in our power to abandon and regroup. No need to surrender.
